Maharashtra Academy of Engineering and Educational Research (MAEER) was established in 1983 as a Trust by the visionary educationist Prof. Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad with the vision of creating and developing professional education facilities to empower the aspiring young generation, thereby providing dedicated, ambitious and skilled professionals to serve the nation.

Since its inception, MAEER has been focusing on value-based education. Apart from the flagship Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT), which is one of the first private engineering colleges in Maharashtra, it has established 72+ institutions covering varied disciplines with over 60,000 students, and 10,000 teaching and non-teaching personnel, in more than 12 campuses.
